Featured Replies

i have a fabia 2001 1.4mpi just wondering roughly how long it takes to replace the clutch

cheers

what doing it yourself or garage, would think most garages around 4 hours maybe slightly less, depends on how much experience if doing it yourself,

3-4 hours sounds reasonable. It's just a hefty bit of work that's all. Nothing really complicated, just a load of stuff to go off/back on.

Saying that, I just took mine to the garage to get it done because I didn't have the time.

Also, if you are going to start it, make sure you've got the right tools first. One of the other reasons I took it to the garage is because I didn't have the right tool to take the shaft bolts out, it's like a 12 splined 'bit' required on mine. The guy at the garage was fuming because he was doing it in the night and the only place he could get the correct bit from was his mate in the snapon van who had it as part of a £130 set.

Not sure what 'bit'/tool will be required on later models though.
