1.2 Tsi Lead Times

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I had a test drive on Saturday and was very impressed with the overall feel of the car and the 1.2 TSI engine.

Our local dealer is saying he can get us a car in three months. Is this dealer talk or is it realistic for a petrol Yeti?

I would think with a manual box and depending on trim level and options selected this may be possible.

Excellent, cheers!

we were told 12 weeks for a manual s model, and waited 17 weeks

My 1.2 TSi DSG Elegance ordered end Oct. eventually received a provisional build date of week 15. It retained this date up until last week when it suddenly slipped back to week 17. This may or may not be due to the DSG element and is of course only a provisional date. As such it could remain at that date or move again either backwards or forwards - hopefully the latter. Something suddenly triggered the additional 2 week set back.

1.2 TSI DSG ordered Sept 10th, build week Nov 21st, available Dec 10th 2010.

So roughly 6 weeks order to build 3 weeks build to collection.

Original estimate 14 - 18 weeks. (Mid Jan -mid Feb 2011)

So it can happen.

If you ask for a ECU update check between services is it the norm to be charged by the dealer.

Do they automatically check for updates if you get non related warranty issues dealt with or

again would this be considered a chargeable item.

If software improvements are available as suggested in this post I would have thought it would be

good practise to offer it if you visit a dealer for any service (not sales)reason to cement your

hopefully long term relationship with the dealer.

SORRY....Posted in wrong forum item ...Should have been 1.2 TSI DSG ECU UPDATES

(not sure how to move)???

Our 1.2TSI Elegance was ordered in Mid may and was collected on September 5th. About 14 weeks.

The car was standard except for TPM and the spare wheel.

The dealer said yesterday that the average was around 13 weeks. So it looks like they were being honest to

be fair to them.

Cheers!
