Quick Up-Date On My Edition 100

Thought I'd let you know how I got on with the new car.

I went down to Bristol to pick it up from estorilblue last Tuesday, it has only had 1 owner and was in excellent condition, I don't think the umbrella has even been used! Only a couple of minor issues, rear parking sensors not working and 1 interior bulb blown.

After a leisurely drive back, playing with all the new toys I got back and the next day I put the VCDS into action, the only fault was one of the parking sensors was giving no signal. I cleaned all the connections up but it didn't fix the issue so I ordered a new one along with a new interior bulb.

Got the bulb, took about 10 minutes to figure out how it fitted but its working again now, just waiting on the parking sensor to turn up.

Next job was to pull the passenger seat out and check under the carpet for damp. Anyway, the carpet was almost bone dry  There was a little moisture but 10 mins with the hair dryer and it was perfect along with all the connections/wires. Next job was to seal the pollen filter like a good'n. After reading the horror stories I really did not want water living in my car. Bit of a messy job but after 4 hours its totally waterproof

Almost a week on and im in love, however, the other half is livid! I made the mistake of not telling her about my new purchase.

I sold my Octavia with the intentions of either getting a small runaround or just sharing her car, a 3 door Yaris. When I saw this car for sale I thought the heated seats would win her over and that I could talk her into selling her car and just have the Superb B)

She told me its uglier than the other one and there's no way its staying  I think I'll manage to change her mind, or at least I'll put up a good fight :D

She has her own car, so regardless of whether she thinks its ugly or not, isnt it your car ?

SWMBO wasnt too pleased when I traded the Fiat 500 for the new Octy vRS, as we dont need a big car ( kids left home ), my reasoning was,

- Yes we 'DONT NEED' a car this size, but I want one this size for the comfort.

- The number of times that there will be a requirement for a large boot to carry large items.

- Our regular once a year 300 mile trips to visit relatives will be a lot more comfortable.

- Holiday suitcases will be better transported.

Finally, Its MY car, you have your choice & if you really dont like it, dont come out as a passenger. emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

We are planning on cutting back to just the 1 car for a while and I don't think the Yaris is big enough for what we need a car for. I think her idea of a bigger car is a 5 door Yaris :giggle: She has only been driving for 18 months so I think the size of the Superb is a bit daunting for her.

On a plus point, she is using it for the school run and work tomorrow so hopefully she is warming to it.

Can't believe how good the sound system is in this thing either, done 200 odd miles in it today and its so easy to drive!
