Rear Wash Wipe

Featured Replies

IM not getting any fluid from the rear wash wipe ,so i took off the rear hatch panel to expose the motor to find the fluid tube had come off the washer jet ,i reconnected ,but im still not getting any screen wash ,i then noticed about a inch of bright green screen wash in the spare wheel compartment and the left hand side carpet soaked with screen wash[auto changer side],

any ideas where it might be coming from ,does the hose have a conector somwhere being the paneling ,from behind the autochanger to the rear wheel

if no conector could the hose have burst

how does the hose route does it go over the wheel arch and into the chassis rail ,,,,,,,,,,help please cheers

A very common problem. A quick search using the forum search feature should throw up plenty of similar threads.

The most common point for failure is as you describe directly behind the washer jet, this failure usually fills up the spare wheel well. Another one is behind the boot lining on the passenger side which would explain the wet upright carpet panel.

There have been failures at other points along the pipes route from the washer bottle but I can't remember the route it takes, I'd guess it's along the top of the doors and down the A pillar?

During the recent cold weather frozen pipes, increased water pressure and repeated operation of the pump pops off or splits the pipes.

If after reconnecting the pipe to the washer jet you are still not getting water onto the rear screen my money would be on you having another leak behind the carpet in the boot. I'd look to fix it ASAP as there are lots of electrics in this area which have been reported to have been damaged by leaky washer pipes in the past.

Good luck!
