Octavia/symphony/bluetooth/iphone Query

Featured Replies

Bear with me on this one. I've just bought an 53 plate octavia elegance which has the symphony HU, steering controls and CD Changer in the boot. In my old car (Leon Mk1) I had a Sony HU which had bluetooth connection and meant I could use the phone and Ipod. I've still got the Sony unit and I'm willing to use it again

I want to be able to use use my iphone in the car to receive phonecalls and to stream music from the ipod, and ideally, maintain the use of the steering wheel controls.

Anyone got any ideas whether this is possible? I've been having a look at a mki9200 Parrot kit and think it may work, but I thought parrot kits replaced the CD Changer (I could be wrong!). Losing the CD Changer isn't too big a problem as all my music is on my ipod, but if I could I would like to maintain use of the steering controls.

Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Dave

Dave,

I'm pretty certain you'll be able to get the Sony unit to interface with the steering wheel controls but you'll need some additional kit see link below) and I could be proved wrong.

In terms of the Parrot I've got no experience of the MKi9200 but do have a CK3200LS in the Octavia that maintains control of the CD changer. It didn't initially as it had been incorectly wired using the standard parrott quadlock adapter and whoever fitted it had fogotten to tranfer over the CD changer connection. I've snce had that sorted and gardwired and it all now works fine so I'm sure the Mki9200 can be wired in the same...
