Audience Radio Removal

Featured Replies

Greetings All,

I now have a replacement head unit (Columbus) and trim to fit in place of the stock Audience unit. I have removed the trim from around the radio, expecting to see some mounting screws. Alsa, all I found was a place for 2 'special' tools to slide in and unlock. (well I think thats what is supposed to happen??)

Would any one have a picture of what tool I need, or a description of how to remove the old head unit?

The car is an 08/2008 build RS Octavia if that makes any difference.

Many thanks

Tom

There are four removable tabs, one in each corner that will need removing to gain access to the torx screws, very straght-forward once you've done that.

With the trim off you should be able to easily slide something down the outer side of each tab to lever it back towards you.

Can see the tabs removed and screw holes here:

Cheers,

I wouldn't have guessed the removable tabs at all.

Will fit the Colombus this afternoon

Tom
