Seized Fabia Engine

Featured Replies

Hi

dont know if anyone can help i have just bought a seized 2001 fabia 1.4 mpi automatic with 45,000 miles on the clock, looks like it has lost all its oil through the crank seal.(is this a known fault on these?).

My engine code is AUA can i fit any other engines to the car,or would an AUA engine out of a polo of seat fit.I have seen an engine with the same code but it is in a manual car.

Any advice appreciated.

Automatic isn't mpi... it'll be a 1.4 16v with 75bhp. I'm not sure if they're identical, but some comforts and the early fabia sports also have this engine. Think it's quite a common VAG lump, may have been in the golf?

If it's seized due to oil loss then i'd suspect that it was actually having piston ring issues before it finally lost all it's oil as that a very well known fault on this engine.
