I am new here so first let me introduce myself.

My name is Dan, 20 years old and from Manchester.

Yesterday I went to my local Skoda garages and test drove the Fabia VRS with all the extras, and ending up ordering it. I put my deposit down and awaiting registration of the vehicle then I can pick it up (hopefully next week). Obvisouly, I have only driven one of these cars for 10 minutes, how are they for day to day driving, and surprising people with the power?

Trade Plates?

Why not go for another longer test drive if you are serious about buying? Or I guess now you will just find out and hope you like it! I doubt you'll be disappointed apart from possibly fuel consumption. I would insist on at least 30min drive in a car I was buying especially with the DSG box - I was seriously tempted recently and my dealer just gave me the keys and I asked how long I could go out for and he said however long I wanted, did 45 mins.

I wish I could have had a car like this when I was 20! Lucky lad! However, at 37 my VRS makes me feel 20 again every day I drive it. You won't regret it believe me. Life is too short to worry about a few mpg here and there. Enjoy!

Hopefully the car will registered next week and I am going to get it on a 60 plate instead of 11 so I dont have to wait 3 weeks haha. Think it is the typical spec, but all the extras inside, bluetooth, cruise control etc etc

Its only 18 days now until the plates change. If I were you I'd wait and collect on 1st March with an '11' :yes:

My vRS is also at the dealer but I'm waiting for the new plate as I reckon I'd feel a little disappointed when it does change over (and the car will hopefully be worth a couple hundred quid more if you trade-in/sell in a few years time).

Not too fussed about the plate mate to be honest, I am the type of person that hates waiting about, maybe a bad thing for me lol, no patience. Looking forward to driving it though haha

Fair enough! You could always chuck a private plate on it anyhow...

Alright mate, Ive just ordered one today but have to wait for mine. Did you purchase yours from the bury new road dealership ? If so is it that black one with black wheels ?
