In a 59 plate Octavia Estate 4x4 there is an option to press a button to disengage either Traction Control or ESP. Which driving aid is switched when the button is pressed? The manual does not make it clear. If one or the other is disengaged how does that effect the other, or are both switched off? Cheers

The switch will tell you what your car has. If the button says ASR then you have the more basic traction control fitted. If it says ESP then you have the more complicated stability control fitted. Either way pressing the button will disable whatever system is in the car and permanently light up the warning lamp in the dash.

Hi Countryboy. If the switch did have any indication on it such as ASR or ESP life would be simples. All it has a picture of a a car sliding which does not indicate which driving aid it refers to. I will try CEPi,s system of a long and short push and report back. Cheers all
