Fabia Maxidot functions

Featured Replies

I've ordered a Favia vRS estate and the only time I've been in one was on the test drive. Was only in the car for about 20 mins so didnt really have a chance to play around with it much.

I was wondering what additional functions you get on the Maxidot, particularly with reference to the vehicle settings you can adjust. I have the same computer on my Mk6 Golf and I am able to change all sorts of things such as the way the car unlocks (single door or all doors), operation of the auto lock function and convenience opening and closing of the windows from the remote key and a few other bits and bobs like showing the audio info etc.

I was wondering if you get some if not all of the same functions on the Fabia, rather than it being just a nicer looking MFD with a few extra things like oil temp etc. I suspect the window convenience function does not appear(only with the key in the lock) but would appreciate it if someone could advise.

Hi

Sadly I think you'll be disappointed (I know I was a bit!!).

My wife's 1.6CR Elegance is fitted with Maxidot and it's basically a 'nicer' display for the onboard computer - avg./current m.p.g. journey time avg. speed etc. OR you can choose to display Radio information.

The settings you CAN change are very limited and do not include 'convenience' functions etc. (which the Octavia Maxidot has!!)

Still that disappointment aside I do hope you enjoy your new car when it arrives.

Alan

P.S. Have a look at this link. You can download an Owners Manual here http://www.skoda-auto.cz/com/service/documentation/fabia/pages/11-2010.aspx You can then read what it says about Maxidot and its' functions.

Hi Alan, many thanks for that. I kind of expected as much to be honest as I know the Polo sized cars normally lose some functionality that the bigger cars get (closing of windows by key rather than remote, auto wipers and dip mirror but no auto lights...that sort of thing). Never mind.

I think 178hp and 7 speed DSG will keep me entertained plenty long enough....when it finally arives haha!

Oh no you can't, the link doesn't work.

I have the old copy but not the 11-2010 version.

I will call Customer Services when I have time.

p.s. Just got it to download very slowly. Acrobat previously came up with an error.

It doesn't have a version number or update history, so you don't know what has changed.

Hi there, I've got the Fabia TDI with Amundsen satnav/stereo, the maxidot display is customisable to include all the usual trip data (you can remove items you don't want) but in mine you can also switch it to show AUDIO data- what's playing, SATNAV directions or PHONE information, depending on your preference.

The windows do go down if you hold the remote open button.

The press once for single door unlock/twice for full unlock can be changed but this has to be done by the dealer.

So far am happy with it, was worried that it not accepting postcodes would be a pain but it seems to work fine. I haven't noticed it not showing any streets or anything like that yet but have only had it 2 weeks.

as far as postcodes and addresses I think its more of a problem in rural areas
