Disabling the interior VRS alarm

Featured Replies

Hello All!

We're looking for some help and maybe feedback on this.

We're trying to disable the interior alarm on the vrs. I thought if I locked it with the key rather than the fob the alarm stayed off but have since found it doesn't.. The handbook says to turn the interior alarm off the car needs to be locked twice within 2 seconds. Tried this by key and by fob as well with no joy. Just wondering if we're missing something or if it's a fault with the car? Anybody else had experience of this? The interior alarm is active when the red led is flashing on the driver's door pin.

I tried a search before posting but couldn't find anything similar.

P.S. It's just so we can leave the dog in the car for a few minutes to run into the shop :)

You've read correctly, hit the lock button twice on the key fob to the lock car whilst disabling interior alarm.

When I say disarm interior alarm I mean if the car was locked whilst someone was still in the car,

they would be able to get out of the car and not set the alarm off.

If the lock button on the fob is only hit once this would activate the interior alarm and would engage the deadlock mechanism.

Try out the aforementioned for yourself, with an assistant sat in the car for the testing.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Thanks for the speedy reply! We've tried and it didn't work. The alarm stayed active with the dog in the car... In the end we opened the boot and reached right across to push the driver's pin down and shut the boot...

If the double press works to not set the interior alarm on others maybe there's a fault with our car.

Do you have a little button low down on the drivers side B pillar? This turns off

Interior monitoring.

WoodyAllen is correct

Thanks again for the replies :)

I've just been out and had a look. I couldn't see anything on the interior or outside behind the doors on either the driver or passenger side b pillars. Just to make sure I've got the anatomy of the car correct, b-pillars are where the forward doors close into and the rear doors are hinged?

Should maybe add the car is an 05 model.

Yeah, your correct on the b pillar location. It mustn't have it specced then

I don't think any of the fabias have that button on the b pillar, my mrs polo 9n has. On the fabia you do it with the key

The interior sensors can be turned off fully with VCDS. There is a VCDS section on here to find some local with it.
