Hi,

Does anyone know what volume of oil is required to top the engine up from the bottom of the dipstick to the top?

This is on a 2004 Octavia vRS if it makes any difference.

Can't say I have heard that question asked before and it would be interesting to know the answer. If nobody can help, perhaps you could let us know in due course - assuming that you are asking because you need to know how much oil to go out and buy to do just that.

Engine oil capacity if 4.5 litres with filter change. I would guess that 1 litre should be adequate to top up between dipstick marks.

Whatever you do, don't over fill it. It is much better to be patient and put in small amounts at a time until you get the level correct.

Right, got a litre of oil. Will experiment later and let you know.
