CHL and LHL on car without Auto-Light or Sensor

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have just got staging working on my car and tried to get Coming Home and Leaving Home light to work, however it didn't?

It has been enabled on VCDS, my car is not equipped with light sensor or auto light (being a S model).

What I have been able to do is before leaving my car and taken off the ignition, I push the high beam for a second or 2 and when I open the door the main beam would light up, and turn off after some time. However, I needed to do this every time for the light to come on.

Is there any setting I should change of VCDS for LHL and CHL to work without pushing for high beam every time I want the light to stay on.

It also would not work what so ever when I return to the car, and unlock it, the light would not come on.

I would really appreciate any help from owners who had been successful in doing this!

Thanks!

Have you left the headlight switch in the ON position?

I know this is how it works on the Octy as i've done it to mine.

Hi there,

I have tried both, headlight on and headlight off, but both times it would work with 1 flash of high beam, but that only works once, and the next time I get back into the car and switch it off, I have to flash the high beam again to get it working?

Is this how it supposed to be. What we have done is Byte 17 Bit 6 Ticked - Leaving Home Light, Byte 12 Bit 2 Ticked - Coming Home light through manual.

Thanks

Off the top of my head the coding sounds right. I would have to look at the coding properly though to be honest.

Have you got an Option in the Maxidot now for CH/LH lights?

Hi,

Unfortunately, no Maxi Dot on mine, just wondering when you mean lights turn on, do you mean main beam or side beam?

Thanks!

Normal dipped beam.

Thanks, I tried that, but to no avail.

For now, I left the light on dipped beam (ie full on headlight) and flash the high beam once before getting out, and it works, but would not work again until I flash again the next time.

Perhaps that is what it means by coming home light through manual. You have to manually select it via your stalk everytime you want the coming home lights to be active.

Unless the Yeti is different, my knowledge of setting this on Octy2s without Maxidot (pre-FL) is that once you've set it and coded the required time to stay illuminated for, that's it. Job done. No pulling of stalks, leaving switches in certain locations, nothing.... it just works :)

As the Yeti presumably has the newer convenience module fitted (these settings aren't in Module 09 anymore are they?) there might be a difference in how it works. Seems annoying that progress has gone backwards though...

I am not sure, but I hope to have that looked into more. Thanks!
