Having waited all day for an appointment...

From www.autowindscreens.co.uk

On 14 February 2011, M J Cowlishaw, D L Z Wong, and C J Farrington of Deloitte LLP were appointed Joint Administrators of Auto Windscreens Limited (“the Company”) and now manage the affairs, business and property of the Company.

The Joint Administrators act only as agents of the Company and contract without personal liability. The Joint Administrators are authorised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

CUSTOMERS:

Regrettably due to the Administration of the Company all operations have been temporarily suspended. We hope to resume shortly.

In the interim, if your query is in relation to either a previously scheduled appointment, rectification work or a new booking and is of an urgent nature we would advise you to contact your insurance company or fleet provider to arrange alternative options.

For all other queries please write to:

was always playing second fiddle to auto glass tbh!

No great loss there then - perhaps if the fitters took pride in their work they'd still be in business.

Just read this with interest as I have some chips and need to have them attended to, I know previously when I checked my insurers (Swiftcover) website it had Auto Windscreens listed as the sole approved repairer.

Guess what now it says -

"Our main approved repairer is Auto Windscreens but if they are unable to carry out the work customers may use Autoglass."

I've been affected by this! I didn't even realise! I booked a windscreen replacement a couple of weeks ago and I waited in all day for them on Saturday and they never showed!! Well now I know why!! Great! :dull:

  • 1 year later...

Don't hold out much hope for the poor workers, I have first hand experience of this company doing the administration, and if I was one of the fitters and other staff, I'd be looking for a new job, just hope they get fixed up and some of the money they are due. I'm still waiting for money after 3years of being finished when my employer went into admin.
