hi im a high mileage octavia killer

Featured Replies

hi every one im Duncan im new to this forum , ive now had two octavias, which i use as taxi, one was a classic 1.9 sdi which was on 250 thousand miles before it got written off, reliable and big boot, good on fuel, only thing i dislike was always suffered with the suspention being hard and noise rattles inside the car.

i now have another octavia which is a 1.9 tdi 130 bhp 6 speed,2004 drives nice and alot faster i brought it second hand and i have now covered 100 thousand in it, which brings it up to 160 thousand in total, but again the only thing thats drives me mad about the car is the rattles and hard suspention , and the noise of the car when you go over a bump.

im have the car inspected every 4 months and the suspention is never a problem , is this just a normal thing with skodas , being noisy and rattley, the garage recomended i change the sub frame rear bushes, which is somthing im going to post on a different topic once i ve worked out how to use it.

anyway im really happy to have found this forum as i have done lots of work on the car my self over recent years and advise you can get from here is fantastic :D

Welcome to the mad house :giggle:

It is worth checking the front anti roll bar drop links as although they may seem like there is no play in them they will start to rattle as you have described after a year or so of 'normal use'.
