Peugeot RCZ 163hp GT

Featured Replies

Ok.. Peugeot UK collected the 200 petrol on Friday :( but delivered a 163hp HDi model :)

Slightly lower spec on this one, 18s instead of 19s and no Xenons.

The gearbox also feels a little less positive, possibly due to the mileage being slightly higher on this one (12.5k vs 4.75k). Most noticeable is a slightly longer shift action and 5th to 6th is very different. In the diesel, it's just straight down the gate into 6th. On the petrol there's a slight snick to the right needed to grab top. Odd. Not sure if it's just mileage or a completely different box and set of selectors etc?

It drives different too being a diesel, but the extra weight in the nose isn't really an issue. You can feel it, but it's not a huge amount.

Ride is about the same, a little less tight feeling maybe, but not a lot different.

What is very apparent is the soundtrack, or lack thereof. The petrol sounded sweet, this just has the diesel hum to it :)

Day to day driving, it's really easy to shove down the road at decent speed. If you open the taps in gear on boost, it's pretty swift, I reckon possibly a match for the petrol once you're moving.

Hopefully these pics will work for everyone!

Do you work for Peugeot or something?

Seat looks a little saggy already! That handbrake is also the most hideous thing i have ever seen in a car! Looks like some sort of adult toy

The RCZ looks nice but its still a Peugeot!

Yeah the leather was the same on the petrol too, also had the same issue on a Jaguar XF I had a while back.

I also though the handbrake is a bit weird.

I don't work for Peugeot, I run a fleet of 150-odd so manufacturers are forthcoming with demos! Got a SEAT Exeo coming on Wednesday.

its a gay car...

why?

because its hand (the handbrake) is doing a gay mans wave....

avoid

Not for me TBH

Thanks for showing us it though

nice car but its still a pug

I wonder how many people looked at an octavia or fabia and said nice car but still a skoda? I said i would never have another french car but this will be a great second hand buy in 12 - 18 months and has much better spec for £'s. I think most manufacturers seem to build in life span of there vehicles these days and the materials used in general just do not seem as hard wearing and stand the test of time as they did say when the mk4 golfs were new.

I'd imagine quite a lot to be fair, Then their view is changed when they drive one and look at the spec.

Nothing wrong with modern Peugeots - they might look a bit weird but they're built ok and all that.

Do you work for Peugeot or something?

Have you not read Dave's other reviews? :D

Amazingly, that looks under-wheeled with 18s on it! Maybe it's after seeing the petrol version with 19s on? Also, what profile tyres are they Dave?

That handbrake is just ridiculous! Also, think these RCZs work better in a lighter metallic, to show the shape a bit more.

It does look a bit under-wheeled

Cant remember the size, 225/45/18s maybe?

Agree on the lighter colours too, White is quite cool.

Yeah, looked a fairly hefty profile.

Saw one in a bluey-grey the other week (one of only a handful I've seen) and looked good.

Would have been Dolphin Blue:

Like the look of Mercury Grey too:

Both show off the shape a heck of a lot better than black IMO...

Blue wins for me.
