no ignition light all the usual steering , dash lights, bla bla bla, put new battery on to get it home i am assuming it is the alternator 11v at battery i have looked at the steel bracket on gearbox and the loom looks good at this point nothing loose before i go and get an alternator is it normal for the ignition light to go out at the same time as on most cars the opposite would be the case should i be looking elsewhere at wiring etc

just looking at my post again not sure if i articulated the question correctly, 11v would point to the alternator but i am well aware there are other issues with the fabia when the loom is at fault do you normally see voltage or not if so is there a drop

gonna bump this, just need to know if anyone has any experience with this or a wiring diagram no battery light worries me

Befor you condem the alternator check the wiring and plug connector below the starter.

The plug has two very thin wires running to it from the alternator, one should be blue the other brown with a red trace.

Months ago I cut out the plug connector and soldered in two new lenghts of wire on my wifes fabia vrs which curred a flickering dash light problem.

You need to drop the plastic engine undertray to get access to the plug.

found the info i needed no obvious damage to wires apparently the d+ is the blue and you should have batt voltage between this and ground
