Fabia 1.2 HTP Engine cover removal

Featured Replies

I want to get into the spark plugs but I cant see a way to take the engine cover off.

Is it just a pull off job or is there something I'm missing. Haynes manual isn't very helpful. It just says to remove the cover!

Pretty sure it's just a case of checking for any pipes going into it (there might be a rubber breather - just pulls off). Then the cover comes off with a nice tug from the front of the car, upwards. It's quite stiff, but should come.

Mine had copper grease on the studs - made it easy to remove!

99% sure it's studs on the 1.2, sure someone'll tell me if I'm wrong though!

There are a few rubber pipes on the right hand side of the cover. Pull these out and the cover should just pull off. btw the air filter is screwed to the underside of the engine cover, be careful where you put it down.

Got it thanks!

I was thinking about keeping the engine cover off, but obviously I'd need a cone air filter and oil breather. Where's the best place to get one?

K&N Induction kit job? Does that come with an oil breather filter too
