Differences between the engines of the CR140 and the CR170

Featured Replies

Is there anyway we can find out what the differences are between the 2 engines?

And not to leave the CR110 out, the differences between that as well?....

Mike

Hi Mike,

the basic engine is identical for all the current versions of the 2.0 TDI CR unit.

The only engine components I've so far identified as being different on the 170 are the flywheel, coolant pump and Turbocharger.

Borgwarner Turbo for the 110 and 140's (there are two 140 versions; one is for the Indian market I think)

Honeywell Turbo for the 170

The Honeywell turbo is a Garrett, a company with long history of building small turbine engines for aircraft use and owned by Honeywell.
