Tough Decision

Featured Replies

Hi all, i currently drive a 51 plate gti but are extremely interested in the new fabia vrs as its still vw build an looks really sweet. I rang the dealer up yesterday an told him what i wanted. Rally Green with black roof and titainium colour alloys, sat nav, climate control, heated seats an headlight washers for just under £14800. is that a good price? any comments would be welcome. cheers

Without looking up the list price and adding on the options myself it's difficult to say.

But it's a straight 20% off anyway at the moment, so anything more than that is a bonus IMO as some dealers don't give away much after the "VAT free" deal.

that sounds about right, as said above, the dealers are really holding off giving anything above the 20% off

Not exactly clear if you told him that this was the price you wanted to pay, or had found somwhere that could do it for that price.

You can do a very rough calculation , see SUK website, download a copy of the brochure, then look @ rrp for the cost of the car & take off 20%, then do the same for each of the options you want, then total up all the Pre 20% prices you have & that will give you a close price to pay.

AS above, dealers wont give you much if anything beyond this.

Just done a quick add up from the Fabia brochure, what you want comes to £ 15223.33 incl delivery and 1st registration, so £14800 seems good (when you take into account this is already discounted by 20% as no VAT). but maybe a start for negotiation?
