REVO remap for vRS

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just heard back from Revotechnik regarding the stage 1 re-map software due to be released for the fab vRS on 1st March. They take out the ECU to unlock it, pop it back in and then hey-presto car can subsequently be re-flashed via the OBD port.

I believe other tuners have said this will 'never' be possible...?

Very tempted to get this done at some stage!! :D

This is some info regarding the SPX device they use to break the ECU encryption:

MY2010 Security lock-out solution

Revo Technik is proud to announce the launch of the new SPX and Crypt-X software. The new specially developed hardware and software allows Revo Dealers to unlock the ECU and flash through the OBDII port (removal of the ECU may be necessary). Revo are currently rolling out the SPX device throughout the 300+ dealer network.

So if you have to take the ECU out, then what's the difference between that and the method everyone else (including us) use?

Just speculating but maybe once they have 'unlocked' it then OBDII port can be used for re-mapping whenever you need to in the future? They also say that the ECU "may" have to be removed so maybe sometimes not?

Will be interesting to see what happens with this after 1st March when people start to have it done....

Ok, interesting to know
