+1 I did that trick a week or two after i bought the car

I guess I'll be doing the same.

I'm going to put down a deposit tomorrow so the dealer can get it MOT'd. I'll pick it up Tuesday morning, get the tax sorted, and drive it straight to the local friendly indy VAG specialist for a full service with fluids change, diagnostic and a plenum chamber clear out. Pick it back up first thing Wednesday morning and start my new life as a Superb driver

One last thought on the water ingress query, if it's a nice warm sunny day where you are and the car is out in full sun all day with windows up, go have a look this evening before it gets dark and look for any condensation forming on the inside windows. When I had a Superb a few years, back, the first I knew of water ingress was steaming up windows after being parked in the sun all day and therefore the interior warming up nicely while the glass remains relatively cold this time of year.

Hope it all works out well. I've just collected my second Superb, the Edition 100 that been on the forum for sale, all good so far!

I did go and see it on a sunny afternoon and there was nothing untoward showing. I think I've pretty much done all I can to check, except take the seats out and pull the carpet up but I thought that might be a step too far

Anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and will be doing the sealant fix as soon as I can, next weekend hopefully. I might even ask the guy doing the service if he can do it seeing as he's replacing all the filters and clearing the chamber anyway.
