ok so after the origional email i recieved earlier in this thread i contacted skoda uk again asking them to explain the process of the goodwill gesture system and i also told them from other forum members experiences it was like trying to get blood out of a stone trying to activate these gestures below is the reply i just recieved:

Thank you for your e-mail dated 22 February 2011. I appreciate the opportunity to positively influence the perception of Customer Services on certain internet forums and I hopemy explanation of the goodwill gesture process will serve towards this.

Upon receiving the vehicles on-site; each individual retailer will collate a spreasheet of which customer's have waited how longfor their vehicles, and therefore how much each is due as a goodwill gesture. For those customers who want to use the amount as credit at the retailer, no further action is required and the customer can usethe amount as soon as they wish. This could be as part payment towards accesories or the amount can be saved for futureprocedures. Other customers will want to take the opportunity to receive Marks & Spencer's vouchers.

In this case, the retailer forwards thecustomer's details onto a third party company who administer the giftcard process. The giftcards will then be sent out to thecustomer's home address and will require a signature before being handed over. The retailers send customer's details to the administering company bi-weekly so the whole process should take no longer than 5-6weeks after delivery of a vehicle.

In some cases there has been a delay in the information being sent but we are confident that our entire retailer network are nowcomfortable and fully competant in this procedure. My wife's Fabia Estate 1.2TSI DSG took 26 weeks from order to delivery. She picked it up 2 days before Christmas. In January I raised a case with SCS who told me to get the dealer to make the claim which they duly did. 2 weeks ago I was given a cheque by my dealer for £300! I was surprised to get a cheque instead of vouchers etc. but my dealer told me that was the procedure now.

I finally received my goodwill gesture today, after a bit of dealer and SUK chasing, having collected my monster on 10 Jan after a 36 week wait. M&S vouchers to the tune of £300. Nice, but trouble is I'm not sure I really want anything from M&S! (Normally shop at Lidl...!)

why dont see if you can change the vouchers into us $$ dollars or Euro's through thier currency exchange, might be worth a try, if we get them thats what we're going to try and do because we're off to the states later this year

No Johann, I had hoped for Skoda credit but I didn't get any choice, they just plopped on the doormat.
