Eyebrow spoilers fitted. Splitter done too.

Featured Replies

Just fitted the Christmas gift my mother in law bought for me.

For anybody who's interested they are the Milotec ones and they came

pre-sprayed in Metallic Black magic. Bought from a place called JBT iirc.

The adhesive supplied with them was well out of date so I used some clear

UHB (Ultra high bond) gel tape to fix them. If I change my mind later

I can take them off again without having to clean adhesive off the lights.

Here they are...

Tomorrow morning Gareth_1.8T is coming to Bristol from London to pick up a set of alloys.

While he's in town we are both fitting splitters to our cars at my gaff.

I have my stainless steel self tappers at the ready :D

I just wanted to aggro up the look of the front of the car a bit ready for a little bit of

lower later in the year all going to plan. I might try and make it to the day at

Castle Combe in a few weeks. I've no excuse not to really, it's only 13 miles away ;)

I'll be staying off the track though, but it would be nice to meet some local members.

(Are you going chrispyvrs?? :D it's a meagre tenner to get in and it would be fun.)

We'll take some pics tomorrow of the before and after. B)

i have 'em on mine but they aren't sprayed

Wish it was as clean as that now :giggle:

Garry - your car looks clean :'(

The brows seem to work on black cars, but not keen with the other vRS colours.

See you in the morning dude

That confirms what I had already thought...

They need the inserts doing now. That looks much better with them done too.

Nice job Ryan.

It only looks it mate, it's proper dirty up close.

Thank the techno gods for low res camera phones :D

After seeing you in action at the RR day I made sure

there was plenty of meat products for tomorrows breakfast ;)

It looks alot better in person, with the brows the inserts and the silver/chrome indicator bulbs it looks mint. IMO anyway's might not be to everyone's taste but i like it.

I'm one of those people I'm afraid... not to my taste mate.. but then they've never floated my boat on any car so nothing personal to your motor.

Gotta admit though, they work better with the inserts darkend.

I've got red vrs. Do you think those light brows would look good on red car but carbon fibre'd up?

Also, it's about time your going to add the splitter!

Dude,

the car looks brilliant! it just keeps getting better and better!

'fraid I'm not a fan of the ewebrow spoilers, that said, I've yet to see any in the flesh.

Will look good with the splitter though!

Okay... Today went pretty well.

But I am still splitterless

Perhaps if we had spent as much time splitter fitting as we did

stuffing our faces we'd have got both cars done. :D

Gareths one is on though, I did manage to lose one of his centre

pins from clips where the undertray meets the bumper though.

I'll order some replacement clips and post him a new one.

I agree there Rob, they aren't to everybodys taste, bit like the yellow fogs :D

I'd better get me oven out and start painting those inserts.

At the end of the day, if you want carbon effect then go for it, why not I say!!

I think colour matched might make them look less "added" if you see what I mean.

Yeah I agree about the splitter, Now I've had a practice on Gareths car I can do mine

during the week.

Thanks Phil, You're a gent!

I've yet to find out :D It took ages to do Gareths in the end.

I was so keen to get it looking spot on since it wasn't my car

I was working on. And of course I haven't done it before either.

The trimming was the hardest part, but we got there in the end with

some luck and plenty of pork.

Big respect to Gareth for allowing a bumbling amateur

like me near his car with a hacksaw. I shouldn't be allowed out of the

kitchen if you ask me

Looks really nice, I have been thinking of getting some brows too.. I saw some slightly different on fleabay:

No fixing kit supplied with these, here's a link to the tape I bought to affix mine.

UHB tape.

Thanks for your comments folks, I only have one pic but I've got to wait for the missus

to finish watching a movie on LOVEFILM before I can upload it to photobucket.

It'll be on later

Not bad - for a 2 minute job!!!

Cheers for all your help today mate. Twas good to have a catch up.

Many thanks for the food and several (massive) jugs of coffee - you're hosting skills are defo up to par

Hopefully catch up again for the Spring Action day at Castle Coombe.

Don't worry about the time, you know how it's done now after practising on Gareth's car :p (Joke, it's looking really good Gareth  ) You've done a good job. Mike B is known to be really good at fitting the LCR splitters, and it still took over an hour for him to do mine. Can't fault the job though.

Me, I shouldn't be allowed IN the kitchen...swap?! :D

Can't decide whether to block the light from the headlights with eye-brows or

fit a Splitter to be knocked off by speed bumps ??? decisions, decisions.emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

my splitter is still on I've never scrapped it once, i doubt a piece of plastic thats barely an inch at its biggest point is going to block much light even if it has I've not noticed.

Splitter is now on

Pics to come when I have jetwashed all the mud off the car.

It's never been this dirty before :(

Well... It's been a long sunny weekend and I didn't manage to clean the car.

Other stuff got in the way but I'm cracking on nicely with my kitchen job.

Took a couple of phone cam pics in the B+Q car park.

When I first got my vRS I swore a splitter wasn't for me, even at standard height.

This is now on the car as a direct result of peer pressure.

Gotta say, it's growing on me, still not used to it yet I don't think.

Was a much trickier task than Gareths as I was on my own doing it and it was

handy having 2 pairs of hands when we did his one.

I botched up the positioning on one side and had to unscrew it and reposition it.

I was going to seal my fogging fog lamps while I had the bumper off but upon closer

inspection they have gone all manky and corroded inside so I'll be ordering a pair

of genuine ones soon. I can't be bothered with pattern parts anymore. It's going to cost lots :(
