Speakers Setup, New Fabia 2011

Featured Replies

Hey guys

I've just place an order of the new skoda fabia 2011 tsi 1.2 105 hp

I'm interesting in making ready my speakers setup before the cars arrive,

What kind of setup does the car arrive with?

I'm the owner of Focal 165KF 6.5 inch Front speakers

& The Alpine PDX 4.150 AMP (4x150watt)

- 1) what speakers arrive with the car? 4/6/8? front/rear?? would be nice to know that first

2) can i hook my own amp, to the original 2din cd player that arrives with the car? Or do i have to purchase a new one?

3) what speakers fit in the front doors? will my focal fit? by the spec i can see they are 70mm depth.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9567_Focal-165-KF.html from this page

what should i put in the backstage , 2x9 inches? or another recommendation?

4) would like a recommendation for a very good sub which can fit the car withotu taking all the bagage and still give a good boost.

Thanks in advance

Simon

Hi, this is copy of my reply to another post re speakers!! which you might find helpful.

Hi, fronts are a bit of a sod to redo and most probably consist of either 13cm or 17cm diameter bass cones in lower front doors, tweeters either by the handles in the front doors or in the windscreen pillars, rear bass 10cm cones in rear deck either side of the parcel shelf with tweeters in the rear doors by the handles. The rears are easier to upgrade and provide a better sound, as with a good head unit the front oem can be v. good. I don't have my exact details at moment but will get back to you later. I fitted a set of Pioneer 10cm?? square plate replacement top end range for the rear side panels of the parcel shelf (existing oem position) and wired in the door tweeters (this is also oem from this position) and Pioneers have a dual cone tweeter inside a bass cone setup (extra tweeters provide more soundstage). I used a Pioneer single CD with USB connection(WMA,WAV,MP3) head unit which has got a very complex cross-over/ equalizer built in (on custom mode you have High,Mid,Low adjust points, for each one you have 4 cut off frequencies, and 4 cut off slope charictaristics!!! Also have bass cut off, sub woofer output, sub cut off point etc etc.. 4x50w MosFet power and cost me about £140 ish 3years ago!!

At home looked at info, Head unit Pioneer DEH-5000UB, Speakers Pioneer customfit rear deck TS-H104 Speakers cost me about £50 about 8yrs ago, head unit cost me £120 3yrs ago!!

Just looked on Pioneers web-site and modern versions look like (don't quote me on this.. check with Pioneer!!) head unit DEH-4200SD or DEH-5200SD, Rear speakers TS-1002i or TS-1001i!!

If you are ripping out the 2din oem you will need to get from Skoda (standard parts) a cubby hole to fill the lower din space and an infill strip/plate to to fill the space around the din head unit to Skoda dashboard. You might also need a din to head unit wiring harness (halfords or head unit manufacturer) if the head unit is not din plugs (even if it is you might have to disconnect the wire which Skoda uses for its diagnostics for the Radio as the head unit will not like it!) you might also need a male/female arial adaptor plug for back of head unit.

All the above from previous experiance!!!
