a bit moist

Featured Replies

i went to get my daughters pram out the boot today and noticed a wet patched.

its only a small patch but its still water in my boot.

it seems to be under the cd changer and to the right towards the spare wheel.

ive read a few threads about this but cant seem to see if this would have anything to do with the rear washer jet not working?

Yes it will have something to do with it as the feed pipe is wrapped in the wiring loom under the cd changer and there is normally a joint at this location which has probably come apart

I assume your vrs is a hatch?

It can be caused by opening the tailgate too quickly when it is wet. There are also a few other issues, which I will let other people more experienced in them cover....

yes my vrs is a hatch,

Alex has a good point, the washer jet supply pipe as a joint in the wiring loom under the CD changer, that may have popped apart....

Washer jet pipe join, or could also be a leaking tailgate rubber seal. The seal over time gets loose when the metal part inside the rubber seal starts to loosen on the boot lip. I found the side above the CD changer area was loose(took ages to find it) and it ran water down the side of the boot lining and dropped onto cd changer area.

I will have a look at the join shortly, where is the washer join at the back,I thought it was up near the aerial. Just wondering why the hose is down near the cd changer!

It runs forward to the washer pump with the wiring loom so passes beneath the cd changer

i went out to the car earlier, pulled the boot liner, undone the black nut the screws the carpet in.

i looked under the cd changer and couldnt see any pipe, but i found a silver piece of foam that was soaking wet.

i pulled the carpet away further along towards the rear seatand found a pipe thats disconnected,1 male and 1 female ends, clipped them back together put the carpet back and tried the washer................nothing.while i was trying the washer i thought i heard a spray from the engine bay.

ive disconnected the hose nearest to the front of the car from the pump and blown through it and i hear air leaking somewhere near the bulk head, tomorrow in day light i shall look again
