ABS Sensor - VAG COM

Featured Replies

My ABS sensor light is on almost all of the time when driving. Although it occasionally turns off and then goes back on again. I would like to try and solve the problem myself before having to forgo and expansive garage trip.

From searching this forum already I have ascertained that the problem may be with one or more of the sensors. They may be dirty / loose or they may need replaced.

First problem appears to be finding out what the problem is.

Should I first carry out a diagnostic check so I know what the problem is? If so would this do the trick.....

Prior to a VAG-COM kit arriving is it worth jacking the car up and looking at the sensors and attempting to clean them / ensure they are plugged in properly?

As you can tell I am very much a novice at this (but everyone has to start somewhere) so any advise would be welcome re...

1. Which Vag-com to buy.

2. Pictures / idiots guide to checking / cleaning / replacing ABS sensors.

Thanks in advance!

Yes that Vagcom kit should work depending on how old you car is. Do a fault code check, & that will tell you which sensor has a fault.
