Would you say this mileage is ok? UPDATE: IT'S MIIIIINE!

Featured Replies

I can't get rid of this itch :p

Would you say 47k on a 2 year old Elegance 2.0 CR TDi DSG is ok if the price is right? I'm thinking that that sort of mileage is likely to be mostly mway, and if it's been serviced properly it should be ok?

As you say if it has a proper full service record and some warranty left (until 60k that is) then the mileage shouldnt be an issue

Mine has done 30k fault free (mechanically) miles in 8 months and is just starting to losen up

I only do approx 6k a year so yeah, id have near enough a full years warranty left, and like you say, it'll be nicely run in :wonder:

I recently brought my superb at auction its a 59 plate and has done wait for it 70k at first I was a little apprehensive but when I saw the car it looks like its done less than 10k so it was a no brainer really as it was a decent price and has fsh and it drives beautifully.

High mileage, former company cars can be a good buy - if the previous owner respected them, but can be a bad buy if the driver razzed the car.

In general, a young high mileage car is probably a better investment than an old low mileage car.

I certainly know colleagues of mine who do in excess of 40K per year, with most of us doing at leas 25k miles.

Obviously I can't know but I somehow just can't see a young sales rep giving it the beans in this type of car. I'm gonna see what I can find out about it.

Cheers.

My 25 month old Superb has now covered 72,000 miles and has been serviced three times (approx every 20k mile on variable servicing). This is more frequent servicing than the average driver who has his/her car serviced once every twelve months.

I've got it down to £15. 5k.

It's got solar sunroof, sunset glass, heated f/r seats, not sure if anything else.

It's Jan 09 with 47000.

Does it sound fair?

How much?

How much?

10.5k manual 170 standard elegance only downside is I don't get the third year warrenty due to mileage. I think skoda need to revise the 60k cap!

Have a look on the auto trader site you will find some with a lot less mileage, and for less shekels

Can't seem to find any cheaper? Needs to be elegance/2. 0CR tdi/DSG

National search brings up £16k as cheapest for me?

Never mind mate plenty of cars put there. As for the first superb on that list the 10k one check put the reviews of the seller best avoided in my opinion.

Have to agree. A quick look is enough to put anyone off. They may be ok but the old saying about smoke and fires...

Much rather buy from a Skoda dealer if poss.

Thanks.

Are there any differences between a jan 09 model and a current one? I mean anything problematical that has since been ironed out or improved?

Off the top of my head a MY11 car will have DRL's in the fog lights and the Columbus sat nav has better connectivity for more phone (such as iPhones) these could both be upgraded at a cost though.

I really wouldn't worry about buying a higher mileage Superb as they really can take the miles. Plus if you buy from a Skoda retailer you get all the warranty benefits from an Approved Used Vehicle.

Does it have to be a TDi or would you consider a 1.8TSi?

As mentioned above the later cars have better bluetooth connectivity, and the DRLs changed slightly from the xenons on 90% to the smaller bulbs in the corner of the foglamps. Older vehicles will have the older firmware on the nav but this is updateable anyway.

If you are financing the purchase of a 2 year old TDi I would explore the options of the a new Superb TSi on the VAT-Free campaign with the low rate PCP finance. Might be a better deal to get a brand new model in the spec/colours you'd really like rather than hunting everywhere for a used TDI which might not ever come about.

Just a thought!

But if you really fancy a used TDi, don't be scared of miles and be patient!

Well, I put the deposit down today to collect on 16th March. It's satin grey metallic, beige leather, sunset glass, solar s/r and f/r heated seats. Love the colour, I think it looks great.

Gonna be good to be back!

Is there a link to updating the Columbus firmware for 7 digit postcode? Dealer says he's updating to the latest maps for me.

Thanks.

PS. As it's a long distance purchase (250 miles), I won't set eyes on it till I go to collect/pay for it. Is there anything particular that I should be checking for when examining it?

Drive it about, staying local to the dealer for a few miles, making sure everything works ok, try the heating and the aircon, all the electric goodies etc. etc.
