Improving Scout Suspension

Featured Replies

Hello.

Seems impossible that any make offers a suspension system for the Scout. I'm looking for a shock & springs kit that not lower the car (or lift it 1-2cm) and improve the response in on and off road, but have find anything.

Someone had make a suspension tuning in this way?

Thanks in advance.

All other things being equal, and it's a generality - if you lower suspension, a car will generally handle better, but if you raise the suspension, the handling won't be as good. This is a basic principle of the way things are.

The suspension on the Scout has a higher ride height that the other Octavias and a considerably higher ride height than the Vrs. With the best will in the world, it won't ever therefore handle as well.

Sorry that's not much help.

Your best bet is to look for an uprated anti roll bar kit.

Wouldn't alter the ride height but would improve the handling (less body roll)

Hope that helps

Phil :)

Well, tnaks, but I think is not a problem of height or roll. Is about how shocks and springs works together, how swallow little bumps and stones in offroad and improve the handle on road.

I'm "only" looking for a better suspension kit.

I fitted Kw variant 3's to my Mk 1 Octy 4x4, fully adjustable for height so worth asking if they can do anything, I tried the Variant 2 first, probably better than stock but not a patch on the V3's.

If you get limp service from the UK dealers ring them direct in Germany, quite a few of them speak English & are incredibly helpful. I was building aslightly special 4x4 so neede a bit more technical help on set up & they sent them over pre set, all I had to do was get the height right

Web is http://www.kwsuspension.de/de/kw_kontaktdaten.php on Kontact I used the technical number

If you change the country on the top right you can get "zee englander page"

Thanks Stuart.

This is the way I'm looking for. I have asked for the Scout suspensions at the KW staff and they answered that is nothing available for this Skoda.

What about the Variant 3 ??

The variant 3 is a Kw product.

My guess is because there is little demand for updating the Scout for a performance suspension they may not even have checked. See if they still do anything for the ordinary 4x4, they did for the Mk 1 4x4. If they do then try & find out if the Scout & 4x4 have basically the same suspension but just longer legs on the Scout. I would be suprised if Skoda went to the bother of engineering struts with different ends just for the Scout although as most parts are from the VAG parts bin there is always a chance they used something different
