The old rear washer/wiper problem

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Octavia II estate.

I seem to have an intermittant sticky rear wiper like many people, along with a lack of water through the rear jet.

Before I go the the trouble of replacing the wiper motor I wanted to check the boot closing sensor (I didnt realise this stopped the wiper from running and spent 20 minutes trying to get it to move with the boot open!).

I am hoping that you can short one (two?) of the 4 connections to the rear wiper to make it believe the boot is shut so I can eliminate that circuit fault before trying a new motor. Anyone know which connector is what..?

Also I have removed all the plastic shroud from the boot door and checked the actual nozzle in the high brake lamp cluster but there is no water getting that far so as the pump motor is buzzing away it must be p******* out somewhere else...it seems from reading around that the nearside panels are the most likly culprit but all those posts were not estates...is the same true of the estate..?

Cheers

Rolf
