have you checked rear door seals?

mine kept steaming up and when i checked the rear seals they were p****d through. no misting since resealing the doors and running aircon or window slightly open (acts like a chimney sucking moisture out) for a week or so

my aircon doesn't work because need's regasing.could it be from the aircon?

im not sure on the aircon front but with the seals just check them after or while its raining. if they areleaking you will see beads of water sat on top of the seal which you can see next to the plastic trim of the footwell. the water then runs of the top of this seal into the footwell. carpets may feel dry to the layers of the carpet, top feels dry whilst the under layer(s) are soaked.

easy and cheap to sort if it is that

think theres a filter under or behind the glovebox (mentioned in that thread) that gets clogged and lets moisture in. could possibly be letting a lot in?! i'd message the guy that posted that reply in the other thread and ask his advice on that, its the only thing i can think of. have you got a sunroof?

no sunroof

no sunroof

ok. could be that filter thats letting moisture in, over time it wet the floor??

what about the spare tyre well is that dry? also check the seal that runs round the boot. in my dads fabia there is water on the "dry" side of the boot seal. car stinks and is always fogged up. it also had the rear door seal problem but that got sorted. could be the boot?

i'm just wondering if i buy a car interior Dehumidifier,or a Moisture Absorber Trap will it do the job

Think I'd get my aircon re-gassed if I was you ... nothing dries air better than a cold heat exchanger to make the moisture condense out of the air before it's re-warmed again.

This is simply down to the good old water ingress issue the MKI Superb suffers with.

When the plenum chamber flooded (due to the grommets being blocked) the pollen filter seal will have failed, this floods the N/S/R footwell (this is where the CCM lives that controls the interior lights, puddle lights etc) take a look at this blog for the cure.

(Note the Fixing Passat Leak link in the blog no longer works, either click on the new link in my last comment or here)

I'm going to have a look at Polen filter seal in the weekend.where can i buy a new seal from?.and when i'm going to take the passenger chair out does the battery need to be disconected because of the airbag?

The new replacement (upgraded) seal can be bought from either a Skoda or VW dealer (B5.5 Passat), alternatively you can do as I did in the blog.

The battery disconnection should be the first thing you do (and the last job is the re-connection), just follow the blog, make sure you REMOVE the grommets though, don't just clear them out for them to block again!

My understanding of the system is the air-con is switched off in econ. You should run the car in auto for a while to remove all the moisture from inside the car.

i just took out today the front passager carpet and the driver's one but still nothing.everything dry.How can i check if the heater is on circulation or fresh air.and how is supose to be?

cheers

Did you check the rear footwells as well? as this is where the water will end up.

Look for Icon No.5 - Air recirculation display on the climatronic display so see if yours is activated (this is activated/de-activated by pressing No.18 - Recirculating air button)

how can i look under the back carpets without taking the front seats off

I don't think you can, you may be able to lift the rear corner of the carpets once the rear seat base has been removed see post #4 & 5 here to see how to remove the seat base

one tiny question about for the polen filter seal. After you apply a thick bed of sealant do i have to leave it to dry and then fited or put it back while is wet.cheers

You need to remove the old useless seal (the outer seal of the pair) clean the recess it sat it then apply a really nice thick bead of sealant (as wide as the old seal but thicker) then refit it all together whilst the sealant is still wet, once cured this will provide a water tight seal that (providing you have used a decent sealant) should last for many years.
