Muting the radio with MFSW & Telephone Installed?

Featured Replies

My car, a Fabia vRS, has both the bluetooth telephone prep and multi-function steering wheel fitted.

The thumbwheel on the steering wheel only serves to control the telephone functions in this configuration, however, I'm led to believe that if the telephone kit isn't fitted then the thumbwheel serves to mute the radio or switch it on and off if pressed.

I can't see any way of muting the radio using the steering wheel and I've been meaning to find out how to do this but having read both manuals for the car and radio I can't find the answer.

Is it possible and if so, how?

I have the MFSW, no bluetooth, pushing the volume button seems to mute the radio for me.

I have the MFSW, no bluetooth, pushing the volume button seems to mute the radio for me.

But I DO have the bluetooth option so pushing the volume button just activates the telephone voice control or enters the phone menu?

Ah right sorry, not entirely sure then.

Maybe try pressing and holding it?

Pressing it briefly enters the telephone menu, pressing and holding it activates the voice control.

I have the same setup as Scottpcs, It doesnt seem to be possible to mute from the wheel.

If you switch the whole system off, it does start up from the same place quickly when pressed back on...

So, short of turning the radio off completely by pressing the on/off button, there's no other way of just muting it with my setup?

What Skoda gives you with one hand they take away with the other it seems in this case?
