mot emissions

Featured Replies

took my year 2000 felicia 1.3 mpi pick-up for its mot this morning.....it passed.....but the tester did have trouble passing the emission test.....the car runs realy well producing some impressive mpg figures and not using a drop of oil.....it is due for a service though....ive recently replaced the ecu and had it set-up by skoda..

any one on here had simular problems ?

It could be the cat on its way home that is causing the prob. Get it serviced though, as it may help.

As above, especially as you've had to run it on two cylinders for a while.

yeah, i expect the cat is goosed, but to be fair they are normally very forgiving and i can't see why you would have damaged it beyond use..

i suppose you don't have to worry about it for another year now though, so a good few blasts down the motorway should get it a bit cleaner, and the other age-old trick is to get the cat red hot before taking it in to get the emissions done

yes, i`ve been thinking the same,it has been sat in my garage for a good month and it has been very damp :wonder: i`ll get some use out of it and see how it runs  i need to service my wifes golf next week so will do the pick-up the following week  looks like its going to be a nice day so will get out there and give it a good clean and try to take some photos to put on the intro page

did notice the other day that the tonneau cover that i bought from skoda last november has lost one of its rivits that holds the securing straps on  not as tough as i had thought, might take it back and see what they say :wonder:

ahh so you went for a genuine skoda tonneau cover in the end then? as it happens i've fitted mine today too.. weather is not so nice here though, it was bright and sunny all morning but now the rain is coming down horiontally dammit, i went for a tonneau cover from a company called monsoon 4x4, it fits really nicely as well

ah yes,ive just looked at your pictures, looks better than mine, very taught,i`ve made up a couple of cross rails to stop mine sagging when it rains, its raining here now  my fault for washing the pick-up,if it clears up later i`ll take some pics......good choice of colour,i was a bit un-sure at first but that looks realy good now its nearing completion :):):)

yes, i forgot to mention those, the monsoon tonneau cover comes with 2 of those, they hold it up in the centre to stop the rain forming a massive puddle in the centre

Thread Hijack(as don't really need to start a new topic for this question)

Been looking into getting a 100cell sport cat fitted to my MR2 after the MOT in June but two of the MR2 owners club members warned against 100cell CATs saying they will probs fail emissions tests.

Now i have my Felly booked in at the exhaust shop to have my manifold and 100cell cat fitted on Thursday, then an MOT the following week!!!

do we think that 100cell cats can fail emission's tests???
