KESSY - what can it do?

Featured Replies

Hi all, ive just ordered a superb and being a bit of a gadget freak ive added KESSY.

Now I understand you can open/close and start the car without using a key, but can anyone explain what else it can do and its limitations?

From reading other posts it seems you may be able to code the system to adjust your seat to its set position is this correct?

i have been playing with the audi configorator a bit, is KESSY the same as audi's 'advanced key'? if so at £510 it really shows the value we get when buying a supposed lesser brand!!!!

many thanks

I've ordered KESSY too, i'm still awaiting delivery of my car. I think it's being built this week! Anyway, there doesn't seem to be that much information about KESSY online for some reason, but i've found this video on YouTube demonstrating some of its features.

Having asked other members about KESSY before i placed my order, i've been told it will remember seat positions (if your car has electronic seats as an option) and it will also remember wing mirror positions.

According to

, KESSY also makes it impossible to accidentally lock the keys in the boot!

I can't wait to try it out.

I was under the impression that on Skoda Superb the key was somehow different to the normal key?

Has anyone got a Superb with KESSY on it?

The key looks exactly the same as the standard one as far as I can tell. It has additional internal functionality of course.

I don't like fumbling for keys, so I like KESSY. It works as well as Keyless-Go in my Merc, with one exception: it needs a way of locking the car from the hatch end.

The front door handles both have lock sensors but as far as I can see, the hatch doesn't. Net result is that if all doors are unlocked, you need to walk round from the hatch to the side doors (or use the key) to lock the car.

If all doors are locked, the hatch will unlock for opening and will lock automatically when shut.

Thanks for clearing that up Sean!

Is there any way of tweaking the functionality of KESSY in the Maxidot system?

For example, i think i'd quite like it if it locked automatically when the KESSY is out of range of the car, instead of having to touch the door handle each time. Is this possible?

Any Škoda key will remember the seat and mirror positions if you have an electric driver's seat. The manual tells you how to store a seat position for each key. So when the other key had been used last and you unluck the car with "your" key the mirrors and seat will whirr back to your chosen memory positions the moment you open the driver's door. So you don't need KESSY to get this functionality.

Also remember that all the Maxidot settings are also stored "per key". So any changes you make via the Maxidot, e.g. to switch the DRL lights off, need to be done to both keys. I'd suspect this will be the same with a KESSY key.

I have electric seats in my car and the key doesn't store the positions. There are numbers 1-3 beside the drivers seat and thats how you set the position on the seats. I could be wrong on this one. It might work on the Kessy system

Insert key in ignition turn on, set seat and mirrors where you want them. Press set and then the no.1button a tone will sound when set, turn off remove key within I think 10 seconds, and press the unlock button on the key until a tone is heard. Seat and mirror are then set to the key. To check alter seat position, and lock car. Unlock with button and open door seat and mirror will then move to preset position. Nice party piece when showing off car. From memory, full instructions are in the handbook though.

That is right but you don't need to start the car with the key, just use the start button and follow the instruction above.
