Superb Sunroof

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the solar panel sunroof on the Superb? I read it warms the car in winter and cools in summer. Does it work well or just a gimmic?

Cheers,

Robbie

In the winter because it soo cold I don't tend to notice any difference and plus lack of sunlight! In the summer it does seems to keep the car cooler inside, which is a bonus on those few hot days of the year.

Thanks mp7125..

I'm picking up my Edition 100 (1.9 TDI 130) next wednesday in the UK and driving back to Ireland with it...Just wondered how you find the car with the extra kit etc, grey leather etc?

Cheers,

Robbie

Quite like the leather seats (but would have preferred if they were black),with good support and heated seats front and back. I clean them with baby wipes. Bags of legroom at the back. Built is Sat Nav is okay and handy but I still use it in conjunction with my Garmin. The glove compartment and the middle console also have temperature control which can keep things cool, not used it much mind you. Love the Xenon lights on my numerous night journeys. Cruise control has also been great. The windows at the back tint with the sun which is quite handy. I've had the car for 3 years and it has been so reliable. Had to replace the alternator pulley this week and apart from that, jus the usual long service and tires. Make sure you read on the water ingress problem with these cars, but I've not bee plagued by it.

Great stuff....Thanks for the info. Really good to hear from nearly all on this forum about the car's great reliability, an essential for a high milage user like me. I've read lots about the water ingress problem, and it's the first thing I'll be looking into.

Thanks a million and good luck with you're car,

Robbie

Huh, you are joking aren't you, the grey adds 6 inches of room in perception over black.

Be very careful doing this, baby wipes are very good at getting them clean but this comes at a price, what this will do is actually take a very light coat off the seats, meaning any sealant will be stripped off and eventually you will be taking the paint off them!!

.....All I can say is, as a previous owner of a Volvo S60 D5 (fantastic car for big miles, ultra reliable, economical and fast, but very tight for space..Unfortunately an idiot wrote it off for me during our nasty Irish winter), the Superb is going to feel like a mobile football pitch. Really looking forward to it..! Might try it on 18" alloys to set it off and tighten up the cornering a little.

Actually, any thoughts on running 18" wheels?

Cheers,

Robbie

Thanks for the advice. I was told a while back by a car trim repairer that baby wipes was all you need. Now the penny has dropped, they also offer leather refurbishment. What is a good product to use?
