Bluetooth options...

Featured Replies

Hello all, still playing around with teh online configurator as I try to spec my vRS! Has to be ordered before the end of the month (VAT offer) so I'd better get a shift on!

Anyway, my question is this; I'm sure I read on here that if you order the bluetooth handsfree then you also have to order the steering wheel controls as you can't operate the handsfree without them, is that correct? In addition, does having the sat nav influence things ie can you control the handsfree via the touch screen therefore not needing the steering wheel?

All help appreciated!

I spent a fair while quizzing the dealer about this when we ordered.

You can control the bluetooth (apparently) from the car stereo if you don't spec the steering wheel.

That said, I don't yet have a car - so only going on what the dealer said.

Hope that helps some.

If i've got it correct, the multi finction sterring wheel fitted to the VRS will control the Bluetooth kit. Check here first Fabia Handbook but also with your dealer (if they know what they are doing).

Our vRS has the multi function wheel but not the Bluetooth or bluetooth enabled wheel.

I want to know what the difference is, we plan on fitting the oem bluetooth, wounder if it will work with our standard MFSW?

I don't think you need the MFSW to control the bluetooth. Here in Ireland, Bluetooth is standard but MFSW is not so I take it the Bluetooth can be controlled using the Swing radio.

In addition, does having the sat nav influence things ie can you control the handsfree via the touch screen therefore not needing the steering wheel?

You will still need the steering wheel. It helps the car go around corners.
