Car won't start doh!

Featured Replies

Afternoon,

Currently sitting in my office waiting for the RAC to arrive. Just went to go out for lunch and the octy wouldn't start.

Shock horror, its been a trusty workhorse for the last 60k.

The engine is turning over but not firing up. Hope its just a set of glow plugs that have had it. Some times on colder days it turns over 2 or 3 times before firing up.

Also if you keep it turning over the oil light comes on flashes and beeps. Its full of oil as it was only services 6 days ago! It fired up this morning no worries and was fine as normal on the 30 miles trip in. Weird.

Any one any ideas before the RAC man shows up?

Thanks

RAC said it was injector related fault codes. Now at the skoda garage and the say that the rac codes can sometimes lead you up the garden path.

However they are going to look at it tomorrow morning so i will await the bad news (as its never good).

After the garage have had the the car for nearly 7 days, i am told it needs a new injector loom and injector. And is cheap as chips at just under a grand. Lovely. Last skoda i will probably ever have. Should have kept my fabia vrs, that was flawless.

Makes these kias with 7 years warranty seem quite attractive nowadays.

You can ask for goodwill if you have a FMDSH. Or get the car recovered to an Indy.

I have asked for good will but experience with skoda good will claims doesn't inspire me with confidence. I doubt i will get anything. The dealer said they may not give you anything as you didn't take their offer up when my dfp had issues.

The good will of 40% would have left me with a 900 bill for a new dpf. That the dealer admitted wasn't faulty, just a slight crack in the casing. So if one of them could actually operate a welder it could have been fixed for pennies. Even so the car has requried 2k worth of work being just 8 months out of warranty.

If i do keep it when i get it back, just to get my monies worth out the repairs i may sort a warranty direct policy out. But they get some really good reviews and some really bad.
