Headlight Adjuster Motors?

Featured Replies

Anyone baught these recently from the dealers if so how much are they for a pair?

Both mine are goosed nothing happens when you try adjust them in the car but you can hear them whirring away but they don't move the lights. Is it a fairly straight forward job to carryout? Had a quick look tonight looks fairly straight forward.

I was considering fixing one of mine which was broken - I think a price around £20 per motor was quoted.

20 quid that aint to bad thought they would be more, is it a easy fix?

If you can hear them whirring away then maybe the problem isn't the motors??

Yeah you can hear the two motors whirring away while the adjuster is moved up or down but nothing happens lol

I've recently replaced one of these, because as you say the motor whirls back and forward continuously when lights are switched on with ignition.

Theses are fiddlely to take out the headlight unit and don't overtighten when replacing as I did because it sheared off the moulding on the back of the projector lense moulding, expoy resin glue works well on thus type of plastic luckily!

With the headlight unit off the car, you need a splined Allen key type socket to unscrew the plastic moulding hanger that joins the plunger from the motor adjuster to the back of the prjector body. Simple system, the motor winds the plunger in or out and therefore tlits the lense about the hinged top part of the projector body within the light unit when it's in the vertical position on the car. Small fingers rather than fat porkers definitely help!

Bought one from Skoda for around £24 Inc vat as far as I can remember.
