Just watched Edd China earlier doing a repair to a front nose cone on a BMW 840. He used a two-part plastic filler on a mesh backing to fill the crack in the plastic. You stick a bit of smooth plastic over the front so it cures smooth, then peel off when its dry.

You could probably find that episode on YouTube somewhere.....

Does anyone know what product he was using? I'm sure that there are a few similar products out there? I'm planning on having a go at a split in SWMBOs front bumper.
