Fiscon Hands Free

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Well my Fabia vRS is finally at the dealers (yay) but it doesn't have the hands free option installed (boo). I wanted to spec it originally but the dealer reckoned that I should not do that as the kit didn't work with all bluetooth phones. SO, they advised me to wait until the vehicle was delivered and then they would fit one which worked just like the original but with all blutooth phones. They said it would be just like the factory one and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Being rather naive I just accepted this with no fuss. Now the vehicles arrived I reminded them of this and they now want to fit a Bury handsfree kit, with screen at a cost of something lik £390+VAT. I specifically didn't want this as it has the screen and I wanted everything to be factory integrated.

So, my question is, has anyone installd the Fiscon Basic Hands Free kit into their new Fabia vRS? If so, what is required and how easy is it to do and does it work ok with the central display between the dials?

Thanks

-Will :)

I have looked into this... the Fiscon is just a junction box behind the stereo, and a mic....

It will need coding to work however...

You can retrofit the oem bluetooth, not sure how much however...it will be something I do

Don't know if this will help. My dealer also told me that my bluetooth wouldn't work with all phones. After some research it appears to come down to a nokia / RSAP problem. Some VAG BT units are RSAP only and as such will not work correctely with non RSAP phones. Nokias and Windows phones (other manufacturers seem hit and miss ( they have to pay Nokia a licence )should function correctely (ipnones - I never found out )other phones appear to connect with the headset only protocol ( So hands free "works" but no phonebook synch etc. RSAP can also give functions like texts being displayed in the display. However my phone works fine ( Android - defo not RSAP) so I appear to have a different BT module - this would also suggest from prior experience that my old Nokia phone would need a software patch to properly synch phonebooks. ( On the basis that I have had to this with my last 2 Nokias) If someone can tell me how to find the part number of my module I would be quite happy to let you know.
