Dam Battery light staying on!

Featured Replies

I just got in from shopping and noticed battery light staying on.

Checked obvious stuff like belt loose battery connections etc

will check the battery voltage and running voltage in morning but battery only 6 months old and not sure a duff battery light up the dash.

Suspecting Alternator or wiring to alternator?

Hard to confirm I know without checking but appreciate comments.

First place I'd look is the 4-pin connector by the starter motor. Two of the wires go to the a/c mag clutch and two go to the alternator. All four are usually attached to the alternator cable. The wires go brittle and snap at the connector

Cheers will check that.

and then the main charge cable from the alternator - check the crimps at both ends, and the fuses above the battery. Also worth checking the resistance of that cable. Finally the fuses on the box on top of the battery.

Ok checked all plugs to and from the alternator and above starter motor, unplugging, checking connections and clenaing them. Did same with terminals over battery. Checked for light staying on and so far whatever i have done seems to have fixed it.

Will still check charging voltage and resistance of cable to see if i have intermittant issue but so far so good.

When I removed the SAI,N249 and N112 I did cable tie the left over sensor plugs to the loom of the alternator (2 wires) so maybe over time the weight was pulling at the alternator wire/plug.

who knows could be gremlins.
