my car was destined for a week 14 build date. which was 4th april. However today i received registration documents for the car including the chassis and registration number.

Is this normal if your car hasnt even been built yet, or is it likely that my car has been built.

Spoke to Skoda in canterbury, they are going to get back to me, but seemed clueless which is strange considering they sent the letter. They did ask if i would be happy to collect early if that was the case.

opinions anybody??

well skoda have got back to me, the car was built last week. 4 weeks ahead of schedule and it is on route to us as we speak.

That's a nice surprise! Can't wait for mine ... Build week 12, would be nice if it comes sooner.

Good for you being 4 weeks early.

However never heard of them registering a car thats not hear yet ? I understood they cannot register it under a couple of forms signed with your signature and insurance documents provided ? Plus you normally get the choice of picking your own registration number from a list ?

Again glad your ahead of the time but strange to get your registration documents through the post ?

thats what i thought. had 3 forms to sign. 2 were identical and for the DVLA registration process. the other was asking if i was happy for them to send my details to the DVLA via the internet as there is a possibility of it being intercepted by hackers.

im thinking with my original order the build date was week 14. but when i amended my order im guessing there was already a car to that spec built, maybe a canelled order

Hmm. Sounds like the correct forms although never heard of dealers doing it this way before but I guess being early is a nice surprise.

Keep us posted

Our car was supposed to be build week 20 but it appears to have fallen off the system, dealer thinks its likely to be built sooner.

I think Skoda are starting to meet demand and beat lead times, particularly on the vRS. I guess they've had a big bunch of orders all at once when it came onto the VAT deal but imagine the number of orders has tailed off.

Not sure what others think on here but I reckon Skoda might pull the vRS back off the VAT deal come end of March. I reckon they used it as an oportunity to shift some units and get more of them out in general circulation

Congrats on the 15th. So what was the final order to collection time vs originally quoted. Mine was 7 weeks and 5 days after being quoted a 16 -20 week delivery. Sounds that you are in a very similar boat.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures mate

8 weeks start to finish

Hope the same thing happens with mine, wait is becomming unbareable!

Mines was originally a week 14 build date also. Now it's week 12 so not too far away. But I've had no documents through the door.

Congrats :) Good news that the flow of cars appears to be improving.

Just had build date 16 confirmed for mine - ordered end Jan.

I've still got to sell the old one though... so I suppose I'd better get a move on!

Is yours an estate or a hatchback louisv6?

AAAARGH I really didn't want to read this. I ordered on 2 November and the build week is next week.... Gagging for it to arrive

Is yours an estate or a hatchback louisv6?

We went for a hatch in the end. Considered the estate for a while. I think the Estate has significantly longer wait times from what I've read on here.

me and the dealer both think thta i got lucky with a cancelled order.

I updated my order to include quite a few extra options around 2 weeks after ordering, so maybe it matchg a car that had already been produced

Ah just wondering because mines is a hatch ordered on the 1st of Feb and I originally had week 16 then 14 then 12. You may still get a bit luckier :)

When I ordered end of November my build was provisionally week 9 with handover early April.

My build was brought forward to week 6 and expected availability was 3-4 weeks later.

However the car must have virtually rolled off the production line onto the transport as delivered to my dealer last week.

I have had no paperwork, just an email from the salesman advising the car was available for delivery.

This has caused me a problem as I will not have finances for balance due to the dealer for another 10 days plus need to have sale of my current car sorted as that funds part of the balance to pay.

The dealer fortunately is sympathetic.
