Time between build date and delivery

Featured Replies

I was just wondering if anyone had any idea how long it takes.

Around 4 weeks is what the dealer advised.

Depends on your order, my wife ordered a Fabia SE 1.2 TSI on the 4th Feb and had it built, shipped, PDI'd and sat on the drive by the 28th

Gav, loads on this, use search and very model specific too.

Good luck.

Dealer called me today to say that my vRS had been built and was in a port in this country(couldn't tell me which port!) and was awaiting transporting to dealership. Again he wouldn't commit to timeframe.

What experiences have you guys had for times from Port to dealer and Picking the car up????

Port to dealer for me was 7 or 8 days

Sounds good. If I get it within the next 2 weeks that'll mean a 9 week turn around from order to collection which is good compared to some ive seen on the forum. Its been 9 weeks too long though!!!!

You'd think they'd have an online tracking service like they do with international delivery of parcels.....except for cars :p

Be a shroud business idea or just an added extra car companies could charge us :(

Seems that the build dates chop and change. Mine was initally assigned build week 20 but has now disappeared from the ordering system. Apparently happens when the build is to be advanced/delayed. Awaiting confirmation from our dealer but hoping its the former rather than the latter.

When we ordered our car at end of Jan there was a 17 week lead time, not sure what it is now though. Understandably I gather demand for the vRS isnt as strong as the other variants so build time not as bad, were looking at a 24 week lead time on a 1.2 TSi DSG. Also gather that the VAT deal applied to 2011 model year cars so Skoda are trying to hurry builds through as much as possible to ensure the no VAT cars are MY 11 spec and not 2012.
