Can someone please confirm if there should be a noise deadening/heatproof panel inside a 2006 mk2 Octavia vRS 2.0T FSI.

Going by other threads I've seen, the diesel vRS models seem to have the panel, but not the petrol.

For £15 and 5 mins you can add it.

Does it make a difference to the cabin noise levels?

It is not fitted on petrol engines, I think it is a cost saving.

It's not fitted on petrol engines because it's not needed due to the lower noise levels.

It makes the bay look more finished and does make a little differance to the idling.

Thanks. Seems strange than the VW Golf gti with the same engine has the panel but not the Skoda.

Fitted one to my 2008 vRS. It's purely a cost saving omission so for £12 I did it, looks miles better and warms up quicker in winter. And it is the easiest mod you will ever make to your car.

My 06 vRS had one fitted......

The reason why I asked was I thought mine had one but I have opened the bonnet after it had been to the dealers for work and it is not there now. It does look like one has been fitted because that section of the inside of the bonnet is clean compared to the rest of the engine bay.
