Octavia Estate Query

Featured Replies

Guys

I have had an Octavia Estate Elegance model from December 2006. On the rear of the car the badge says it is a 1.9 TDI. It is a lease vehicle and the lease company say it is a 2.0litre. Is there anyway of quickly finding out whether the vehicle is indeed 1.9 or 2.0litre?

Were the terms used interchangeably?

If not, was there likely to be much difference in price new between 1.9 & 2.0 litre?

What would paperwork would I need to take to a Skoda dealer to get this confirmed?

Anyone advise please?

Lawman

how many gears does it have 1.9 5 speed, 2.0 6 speed.

The engine code on the sticker in the service book and in the spare wheel well will tell you what engine is fitted to the car. You should be able to find online the engine spec relating to that code or a Skoda dealer will be able to tell you.

The badge in the back for the 1.9 is TDI

For the 2.0 is TDI

And as already been said 1.9 is 5speed 'box and the 2.0 is 6speed 'box

isn't the 2.0L only for the vRS models????

- 2.0L TSI

- 2.0L TDI

Not in the UK. 2.0TDI with 140bhp was fitted to 'normal' models. The 170bhp version was vRS only though.

I don't know if it applies to an 06 model, but the later 1.9 & 2.0 litre diesels are slightly different motors. Apart from the marginally bigger bore of the 2.0, the heads are definitely different, with more valves per cylinder: 2 per cylinder in the 1.9, and more - can't remember if its 3 or 4 per cylinder - in the 2.0. So, no, 1.9 and 2.0 are not different names for the same thing. I'd guess that the bottom end is probably the same.
