Fabia 2 exhaust management system problem?

Featured Replies

Fabia 1.4 Turbo-diesel

Driving on Saturday, LCD centre-section of dashboard blanked out. Stopped, turned off engine, restarted and engine symbol on dash is on permanently, diesel heater light flashes permanently.

Handbook says exhaust management system problem. Can't see any wires off anywhere, so has anyone any ideas, please? Car still under guarantee, but the dealer is over 50 miles away so I don't want 110 mile trip for something I could fix.

Am an ex mechanic with tools, but that was all 40 years ago!

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Regards,

Les

maybe find somebody with a VCDS near and get them to read off the fault codes, this may help you understand and rectify the issue! If notmaybe ring them explain the issue to the dealership and see if its a known fault?

All on their own the warning lamps have gone out, however I took it to the local SEAT dealer to be put on their computer. It turns out it is not an engine fault, but a faulty flywheel sensor, "Not common, but not unknown" was how the Service-man described it! Anyway, now waiting for a new sensor to be fitted under guarantee.

Enjoying the forum.

Thanks,

Les
