Forge have brought a totally new BOV for the VAG 1.4TSI Twincharged engines, sounds really good actually!

There is a link at the bottom of the page, takes you to a YouTube video of it fitted on a Fab VRS!

Thoughts?

Stu

Edit: This is not just the Forge BOV spacer!

Think thats a vRS from here marcusfordus' i think

i was given one when i had my octavia.

Fitted it and instantly regretted it. When at full throttle it sounds ace, however when your in traffic, chilling out at low speed, gentle acceleration and its whooshing like crazy. Sounded like a bus. I took it off after a few days.

it was embarassing in traffic because it made you look like a right tool

I doubt it would be that noticeable at low speed with the VRS, the boost range for the turbo seems to be higher up in the revs.

Dreadful totally dreadful

If I wanted to look and sound like a chav..I would have bought a Saxo with a 4" exhaust!!

I'll lerave this for the kiddies..No thanks Forge

nope, theres a supercharger so boost comes in very early. It was very very noticable on the octavia vRS

I wasn't aware the supercharger vented to be honest...learn something new everyday.

dont think it does, but there is one inlet circuit which includes both the supercharger and turbo charger. The supercharger comes on boost early which spools the turbo. I presume one DV will control the whole system

Yeah, you are correct, the whole system is controlled with one inlet and the control flap / valve to direct the air to either the charger or turbo, and like you said the charger does spool the turbo partially.

So yeah, it does make sense actually that one DV will be for everything.

Not sure I would want one going off all the time at low speeds.

Also, Forge have released a re-circ version of this valve also.

Would almost sound exactly the same as stock, just stronger components, etc, I imagine.

Nope it's NOT mine

Chav it up.

If most of the Furby RS lads and girls get them maybe they will turn out just like the Saxo and Peugeot 106 brigade

Each to your own and all that

Not sure I would want one going off all the time at low speeds.

+1. Would be ok for a laugh when ragging it but not when sat in traffic

The one in the video clip was pretty loud!
