TV Tuner for Columbus

Featured Replies

I have just taken delivery of my new Yeti CR170. Very pleased with it, but being the world cup, I cannot receive the cricket (no DAB or LW). Where can I get an integrated DVB TV tuner that works with the Columbus and a MDI so that I can plug in the iPod? I am really stuck as to find someone (nearish me in NW London) reputable to install it and do any necessary VCDS work!

I also need to get the latest firmware for the Columbus as I want 7 digit postcodes!

Any suggestions - all help gratefully received!

Your dealer should have updated the Columbus, if you've just bought it.

And I think there was a thread about the TV upgrade here recently that proved to be mega expensive and potentially illegal in UK.

I am assuming that is the TV in Motion part which I am not bothered about. I just want to get some of the digital radio stations!!!! Regardless, I am willing to pay!

Pure Highway plugged into the Aux socket works well for me and gives all DAB channels! Unit lives in the Jumbo box, still allows iPod connection via MDI and much cheaper than the TV option for the Columbus.

That's helpful thanks, but it doesn't actually answer my question. I don't like the trailing cables and I want to be able to control it from the head unit! You say that it allows an iPod connection via the MDI - how do I get the MDI and someone reputable to install it?

Temporarily I already use a portable DAB tuner but an external antenna would help. Where does your antenna go?
