FL VRS in for repairs !

Featured Replies

Just had to drop my cheeky FL CR VRS in for some investigation work. Have wind noise coming in from the passenger side somewhere, noisey center army rest rattle thingy and strange power steering sounds when on lock after a good run. Left it with the dealer who have been great upto now with SUK supplying me with a hire car for the duration. Hope all ges well , wondering if there are any issues with other folks Octy FL's?

ps hire car is a f*****g zafira !!!!

How come SUK are supplying a hire car? Surely they aren't dangerous issues to warrant something like that?

Have got a rattle on mine from the passenger side somewhere but think it may be the GPS cable for my columbus. Will investigate when i get chance. Other than that it is fine.

Well because they want to keep the car for bit of investigation work the deal with hire companies now for warranty work courtesy cars i belive. :wonder:

Really? so that means i might not get a crappy 1.2 Polo like i always ended up with when the mother in front checking in her 1.2 Polo for warranty work gets a 1.6TDI Golf Plus and does about 3 miles in it! :o

Had the arm rest replaced (dsh type rattle) and the passenger door stop adjusted as per TPI ??? Any ideas on what a TPI is ? All good upto now !!

cheers

Did they sort the power steering? What did the noise sound like?

Mine periodically sounds odd at or near full lock. Difficult to describe the noise, but sounds 'wrong'.

The dealer looked at it for me when the car was three months old but couldn't replicate the noise!

Hi Dunc,

Sounds like you have the same undiscriptive noise i get on full lock, not all the time tho. Like cavitation of fluid but do belive it has electro/hydraulic powers steering in the Octy but not 100% sure. Benn told to let it delope... suppose they cant fix something they aint seeing or hearing. Interested to hear what your probs have been....mine 3 months old to

Manc

Manc,

Mine was noisy, had it looked at, they couldn't find a fault (as said above).

Went quiet again for ages, but noise has started again.

It is still very intermittent, and the steering appears to be working fine.

Car nearly 9 months old, so will have them look at it again at the first annual service.

Other issues: two rear PDC sensors changed due to water ingress, and had a proper four wheel alignment done at a specialist (£72) to look after my tyres (avoid sawtoothing) and to ensure perfectly centred steering!

Other than that, no issues, fabulous car!

Good luck with yours!
