Dirty Seats

Featured Replies

Hi all, new to this forum. My 2004 octavia Vrs has got grubby seats on the cloth bits and on the o/s front door panel. Any ideas on the best stuff to clean them?

2 table spoons of bicarbonate of soda in a 1 litre jug of warm water. Just wash the seats with a cloth and leave to dry. A chap on here think it was pauldazzle recommened this to me when he posted on a previous post i had on this subject. It works a treat even on the carpet :-)

Car plan stain remover, 2 quid from asda :)

When you rent a Rug Doctor to do your house carpets.

make a weak mixing and do the car at same time.

make sure you then do it again with just water to rinse them.

brings them up like new.

I'm going to use my carpet cleaner when the weather clears up.

Just going to make a weak mixture up and do the whole lot

Ive used all sorts of cleaners to using Vanish stain remover and carpert/upholstery cleaner etc, and drivers seat looks vary patchy. Have to be careful as seat is heated.

any more ideas welcome.

Rug doctor looked good but cant see how you can get the machine to do the seats? Does it have an attachment?

I had tryed all different cleaning products also nothing really worked, so i tryed the bicarboante of soda and water and it works the best and also the cheapest :-)

shout spray worked a treat on my old seats

Yes. When you rent ask for the upholstery attachments and you get a little hand attachment that is pefect for stairs and car seats. Rugdoctor was the only thing that got the water and grease stains out of my front seats.

I used liquid flash in a bucket of warm water and a floor cloth to wipe down my seats and headlining when i stopped smoking, worked a treat, looks like new.

Mine has light coloured interior and is very difficult to get the seats clean. Nothing I've tried so far has worked. I like the sound of bicarbonate of soda so I'll give that a go.....
